Kaleidoscope

Located on the quiet west end of Oak Island, KALEIDOSCOPE is a wonderful vacation spot with all the comforts of home. At KALEIDOSCOPE you are high enough to be able to see the ocean, Davis Creek and the waterway! The owner's personal favorite spots are on the deck watching the pelicans fly over the ocean and in the Relax'r chairs in the living area that looks out over Davis Creek and the inland waterway where you can watch shorebirds and boats go by. Sunrises and sunsets reflecting in the water can be fantastic from either side of this south facing island get-away.

All bedrooms are located upstairs. There is plenty of room in the common area of the house for get-togethers, meals, and games. The kitchen is very well stocked. The enclosed area under the house contains the washer/dryer, recreational space and a half bath. Outside, the spacious fenced yard and beautiful landscaping make a relaxing retreat to ponder or soak up the sun. Wash off the day's sand in the outside H/C shower. The welcome mat is always out for you canine best friends.

It is an easy walk to the beach or the small boat launch on Davis Creek. Be sure to explore the island...there are many parks and activities such as nature trails, kayaking, jet skiing, bicycling, kiting, fishing charters, golf courses, tennis courts, a skate park and lots of places to see in the area! The ever changing "Point" at the west end of Oak Island is a favorite spot for surf fishing, clamming or observing nature at work. The shops in Southport are full of the latest fashions as well as art, novelty items and antiques. The short ferry ride from Southport to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher is a great adventure for young and old alike. There are many good restaurants in the area. Whether you are looking for Calabash style seafood or have a yen for international cusine you can find it. The Fish House at Blue Water Marina with its water view is a personal favorite of the owner.

As you cross the Oak Island bridge onto the island for the first time, you will feel like you have left any troubles on the other side. Take time to rest and enjoy all there is to do on Oak Island. When you leave you will take away many priceless memories that will last a lifetime and make you want to return again next year if not sooner!
